An Aussie Travel Guy Christmas

Posted On By Rob

This is our first Christmas with our new son Jake.  Our Christmas tree was originally purchased in December 1999 and has been with us ever since.  As you can see from the photos below, Jake was very excited to see the tree, even when it was undecorated.  Go tree!

Each year, for 12 years, we have each bought a new Christmas decoration for the tree.  This year we have broken from that tradition and purchased a singular decoration for the three if us. It is a Swarovski snowman crystal, which you can see below.

At this stage, each decoration has a story to tell, as we’ve bought decorations from all over the world. From Maltese glass from Malta to a Swarovski crystal star purchased at Bloomingdale’s in New York.  We can trace our last 12 years through this tree and the memories contained on each branch.

Lastly, Jake helped me to place the golden star on top of the tree itself.  I can’t wait until he is older and can help us decorate the tree each December.

The finishing touch?  A little bit of an obstacle to prevent certain babies from causing Christmas tree chaos!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all, all our best for 2013.
