Well the holiday season is in full swing, and to mark the occasion many households in the Nation’s Capital turn to decorating their residences with a (possibly) insane amount of Christmas lights.
This evening, given the deluge of rain had passed us by, we decided to head out and see a few of the great sites on offer.
Our first destination apparently holds the world record for number of Christmas lights – counting in at over 330,000 lights (or 331,032 to be precise)! Yes, we were in the Parliamentary zone suburb of Forrest, and the site was simply amazing, as these photos (hopefully) will attest:
After we walked through the amazing light cave, we headed back to the cars and took off for the southern suburb of Kambah (actual address: Bissenberger crescent). Here, there was a cul-de-sac done up in a largely Christmas theme – the corner house even had a walk in area complete with a model train.
A house further down into the cul-de-sac had a little model of a town all lit up in the front garden, along a path which led towards the front of the house.
All in all, an excellent little adventure. Stay tuned for more next Christmas.
