A Weekend’s Work

Posted On By Rob

This weekend, we knocked off a few outstanding items from our “to do” list.  We finally replaced the coffee table with a real TV stand, and at the same time we solved the storage issue for our DVDs:

We’re certainly beyond help when it comes to DVDs, although we’ve almost stopped now (for what hopefully should be obvious reasons – cost and storage).

The TV stand is nice, but it’s probably too light – we were unable to locate one in the dark chocolate colour we need.  However, it does match the wooden divider and my desk, so it’s not all bad.

Yesterday, we went out to Fyshwick and attended a warehouse clearance auction.  We bid on four items, but only won two of them.  No problem, the two we did win are working out quite nicely.  The first was the aforementioned wooden divider (RRP $339) which I picked up for $100 (+16.5%) and a leather seated wooden stool (RRP $119) –0 which I picked up for $50 (+16.5%).

Anyhow.. Christmas is a week away now, so not much left until the new year.  Happy holidays everyone, and enjoy the silly season.
