Sunday Walkabout in Sydney

Posted On By Rob

Don’t you wish that Winter in your country was as gorgeous as it is in Sydney?  Despite the calendar showing August 28th (the end of Winter in the southern hemisphere) we were presented with a most brilliant sunny afternoon, blue skies and perfect temperature for a walk around town.

We started at 3:30pm walking down Oxford Street before cutting north through Hyde Park.  Crossing onto Elizabeth street, we walked due north past Parliament and the Botanic Gardens before arriving at the Opera House.

After stopping for photos we turned south and strolled down to Circular Quay, then west to the Rocks.  Browsing through the markets, we then walked through the Argyle cut and then up onto Observatory Hill.

Being around 5pm, and facing both north and west, we took in a really beautiful sunset.  Turning due south, we headed along Sussex street until we hit Market street, and then headed east again, crossing Elizabeth near the large Obelisk and then up past the war memorial and back towards Oxford street.

If only all weekends could be like this!
