August 7th : London, United Kingdom
Well, today was our first full day in London and we covered a huge amount of ground – mostly on foot.
We started the day at Buckingham Palace and walked past Parliament and Big Ben to the London Eye.
From there we followed the river Thames to the Tower bridge.
Crossing the bridge, we climbed to the top (via the museum) and back across to the Engine Room.
Afterwards, we headed to the Tower of London where we spent about an hour or so touring the various towers.
Afterwards, we climbed Christopher Wren’s Monument before grabbing a pub lunch at “The Britannia” and watching the Aussies at bat in the Ashes.
Then we trekked to St Paul’s Cathedral which we took in before heading to Trafalgar Square. From Trafalgar we walked north and spent about at hour at the British Museum.
Finally, we left the museum and caught the tube back towards Buckingham Palace.
We’re now at the Rubens again, resting up and – as luck would have it – the weather has cleared and we have beautiful blue sky (which has been missing all day).
Stay tuned for more..
