Early Morning
Combining 3 hours sleep from yesterday afternoon, with the addition of an extra 4 hours sleep overnight, I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at a crazy 6am. I mulled over a couple of options before deciding on going for a walk. I’m not honestly sure whether this is normally advisable, but no one seemed to mind. Despite the early hour – on a public holiday – there were people about. Some were walking for exercise like I was, and some going about their daily routine.
Mexican Restaurant/Farmer’s Market
The organic fruit market (Sigona’s Farmer’s Market) not far from Will’s place opened dead on 6am, I made a mental note to backtrack there later. Someone was at the Mexican restaurant unloading from a van, but otherwise the area was fairly sparse for action. I made my way to a petrol station and took some cash out from an ATM. The man at the counter seemed spry and attentive for such a wee hour. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge on the way through. I crossed a large road using a pedestrian footbridge (this time) and found myself buried within some close knit units wedged near a public school.
Service Station/Wicked looking ice cream van
I started to head back, but decided that 20 minutes of “exercise” was a bit half assed. I decided to scout the area on foot a bit further. There was an interesting ice cream depot a bit further closer to the freeway, and although I was aiming to get a better view of the bay, pedestrian foot options were quite limited. I located another potential food option nearby – a Pita restaurant, and then returned home.
