Battlestar Galactica– Season 1

Posted On By Rob

Recently, I finished watching the Battlestar mini series and the first season.  It’s a very entertaining and well produced, however I do have some gripes leading into the second season.

Beware, are spoilers here!

  • Why is there only one freaking Doctor out of forty seven thousand-odd humans?  Surely there’d be at least one or two more than that, based on statistics.
  • One episode they’re bemoaning the lack of pilots, yet a couple of episodes later they seem fine, in fact, these pilots seem way more skilled than their Cylon enemies
  • How does Baltar possibly get elected as the Vice President after earlier being accused (and later exonerated) as a Cylon agent?
  • Speaking of Baltar, he has clearly been acting loony in front of enough people, who trusts him in isolation to determine who is a Cylon or not, without any oversight whatsoever?
  • Wouldn’t he be too busy testing blood samples to take on the office of Vice President?
  • Who would honestly assign any critical assignment to a pilot who recently had a firearm accident, clearly showing signs of psychological problems?
  • Starbuck gets talked into going back to Caprica far too easily by the President, how does that work?

Anyhow, despite all that it’s been very good, and I’m now onto Season Two..
