It’s time for a quick update from HangZhou! Recently, our friend from Shanghai (Will) visited and we had a good time.
Although it was a quick visit, just overnight, we managed to have a nice Mexican dinner and a good solid game of electronic Monopoly.
In other news, I’m currently training up a potential new staff member (programmer) who doesn’t speak much English. It’s been a very interesting time translating
technical terms and Australia turn of phrase into a working dialog, but it seems to be worth the effort. Check back with me on how that’s working out, I guess..
On Wednesday night, accompanied by Will, we headed out Decathlon/Auchen way (in North HangZhou) where we stumbled into the Hola store, behind Decathlon.
At some cost, I was able to obtain a stove top percolator for home use (my coffee machine is in the office).
Whilst brewing an early morning cuppa, it struck me that this visage before me might be worth a shot with my dSLR, and as a result I’ve uploaded two photos for your consideration:
A little while back Toni bought a really impressive hand carved plate at the “old HangZhou” on Hefang Lu. Finally, here is a photo of said plate:
Our thoughts go out to my good Mum, who recently had a bit of bad health whilst visiting in Melbourne. Here’s hoping for a full and quick recovery.
Thanks to Toni’s mum for the great package we received last week – we’ve had a devil of a time trying to locate some specific kitchenware items (mostly measuring cups, etc) and these have helped immensely!
Anyhow, it’s getting a bit (too) late, and I really should try and get some rest. Hope to hear from people soon!
Wow everyone looks like they love this blog. It’s a good blog.
