Shopping in HangZhou

Posted On By Rob

One of the massive benefits of living in China is that you can purchase some things at remarkable prices, and in some cases you don’t have to brave the local markets or speak Mandarin to get a good price either.  We’re quite fond of the French store ‘Decathlon’ in North HangZhou.  Today was our second visit, and I think you may agree we did well for ourselves.

We needed some more clothes which are better suited to the hot and damp conditions locally, so we were looking for T-Shirts and shorts primarily.  I was looking for a solid set of rollerblades being that XiHu (west lake) is a particularly flat landscape, and great for using the old street skates.

Pictured below is the day’s haul – and the particulars are as follows:

1x Mens Rollerblades (size 26/42.5 in Chinese Measurement, 8.5 in US) – Decent Quality

1x Hard Hat/Helmet

1x Safety Gear (knee/elbow/wrist pads) – I only use the wrist guards 🙁

5x Shorts (2 cotton) – two pair with the neoprene

3x Men’s XL sport shirts featuring neoprene layers

2x Women’s Shirts

1x LED Head lamp

1x 3 pairs of socks

1x Safety Clamp

All this for just over 1200 RMB which is roughly AUD $200 – you can’t argue with that value I think!

  1. Hey, at any time you can shoot me an e-mail. I hear that BE is producing some giant changes to their operation and as a fellow BE blogmaster I was curious to know should seriously you have heard anything about it.

  2. Blog Engine FTW! This site is cool. I am really interested and was wondering if anyone else had any other related posts they would suggest. I like writing squidoo lenses myself and would like to gather as much data as I can. Please take a look one of my little projects if you like
