My, time has been flying by! It is hard to believe that we are into the second half of the year already. We’ve been living in China for over four months (nearly) and time is flying by. It seems like since we moved into our apartment in April that we’ve been going from strength to strength.
The last few weeks have been particularly busy, and we’ve had quite a lot on our plates (work and social). Toni wrapped her course last week and is now on summer break – which, by the way, has been pretty hot these past few days after an unusually wet and mild June (or so we are told).
We’ve been slowly extending our exploration of local restaurants and shops as well as getting a little bit more comfortable with our spoken Mandarin. Highlights include ice skating at the new MIXC centre (in the new HangZhou city center), various trips into downtown (as recently as last weekend) and buying some (long overdue) new clothes at French chain Decathlon.
My poor Motion Computing LS800 bit the dust last month, and as a result my Dell Studio XPS is now a home based unit. A few weeks ago we built from parts some new desktops and now I have a tower at the office sporting a neat Intel i7 930 processor, a 128GB SSD and over 6 GB of memory. Yes, it is cheaper to buy parts here by quite a bit.
Anyhow, that’s all for now…
