This afternoon we drifted west towards the corner of Gudun Lu and Wen’er Lu (west) where we stopped in at the Yoho Cafe. I’d previously seen it mentioned on some ex-pat websites ((such as the ones listed below), and it stood out for two reasons; 1 – it was nearby and 2 – the reviews made it sound irresistible.
After several hours of walking around the local area – we covered a lot of ground, walking as far north on Gudun Lu as the Walmart super center – it was nice to kick up our heels. The cafe was exactly where we’d left it (we previously located it on Saturday), so we stepped inside.
The pictures in the review below are pretty much spot on in terms of capturing the decor. We only sat in the downstairs area, so I can’t comment on the second level. There were a couple of people sitting around drinking coffee or eating light meals and the staff were attentive. Not long after we had ordered from a sumptuous menu, my salad arrived. I’d decided to forego a large meal plate so I could afford one of the specialty coffees (I chose the Ethiopian mocha).
My Caesar salad was a different take on a traditional, with sultanas and nuts, but still was, altogether, the best salad I’ve had in China thus far. Toni’s lamb cutlets arrived not long after and they were, in a word, deliciously sublime. Blended into what seemed like a handmade mint sauce, with tasty accompaniments such as potato and zucchini it was the highlight of the day.
Once we were done with the main food, my coffee arrived and it did not disappoint – a well crafted, smooth coffee presented perfectly. The “single origin” coffees came with a complimentary cake selection (I chose the warm chocolate cake) which was superb.
Anyhow, we were very satisfied and plan to go back again (next time I will order more lavishly I think!)

I like your post, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so interesting, I get fed up of seeing the same old boring recycled stuff all of the time.
