Landed in Seoul, Korea

Posted On By Rob

Hi Everyone,

I’ve landed safely at ICM Intl airport near Seoul, South Korea in transit to Shanghai.  My outbound flight departs in about one hour.

One thing I have to say – and this applies to Bangkok also – the airports are fantastic.  They are far superior to anything we have in Australia and then some.

Judging by the facilities, I imagine this airport is relatively new, and sports some serious entertainment and services.  I’ve got a 5.5 hour layover here on the way back and I think I’ll stick around instead of trying to see Seoul.

I borrowed a power converter from the service/info desk so I’m charging my laptop while making use of the free WiFi access.  Everything is well labelled and it’s easy as pie to find my way around the terminals.

All the staff I’ve interacted with have been multi-lingual (as one might expect at a major international airport) and so far everything’s been groovy.  High marks to Korea for a fine International standard airport.  They even have a transit hotel complete with massage facilities and so forth.

See you all when I land in China… R

  1. I agree, that airport is great. And if it’s the one I’m remembering, the transit area has a place where you can take a shower and get cleaned up before the next flight. Makes all the difference on the long trips, and you actually feel human again.
