August 11th : At Sea
Today the Equinox was at sea, making the journey from Cherbourg to the Spanish port of Vigo.
Last night we participated in a five course food and wine degustation in the Murano specialty restaurant.
I will post the menu and wine details separately, but for now it is enough to say we needed to sleep in this morning!
We awoke around 11:30am – being the latest we’ve slept in all holiday thus far – and had an early lunch at the Mast Grill.
We headed down to the Equinox theatre and listened to Professor John Johnson play some Cole Porter.
We’d met John the previous day in Cherbourg when we were roaming the streets.
Next, we had to go shopping because Rob didn’t pack a tie and the evening was one of the two formal nights. Later we also discovered the necessity of a new belt also!
Retiring to the stateroom, we had a rest before heading back up to the pool deck for some swimming.
Afterwards, we headed down to the Persian Garden (steam rooms) and spent about half an hour relaxing.
Our dinner reservation tonight was in Tuscan Grille where we were treated to a four course meal of traditional Italian fare. The ambiance and feel was only slightly bested by the experience last night at Murano.
After dinner, we hit the casino where Rob played blackjack (and came out nicely) and Toni invested in other options.
We ended up down USD $25 at the end of the evening, partly
boosted by betting $100 on red at the Roulette table (and winning).
Fast approaching midnight, with a private tour tomorrow in Vigo, we’ve decided to call it a night.
Today we are at the Spanish port of Vigo, north of Portugal. Stay tuned for more..

We are at Changi airport ready to go to KL.We’ve had adventures already but all good. Stayed at Crown Plaza in Singapore…amazing!! British air flight very good business class better than QANTAS. Hope all is well with you. You look very handsome in your suit, Rob.. Must go Bye for now Love Mum
