First Father’s Day

Posted On By Rob

What a great Father’s Day! This year is my first as a Dad, and the first Father’s Day has already set a high benchmark for the event. We started out with a late brunch in the city at Cafe Garema where I received my second Father’s Day present – a wine bottle thermostat – and a chorizo omelette with two piccolo lattes.

Then, I cut over to Landspeed Records and later JB HiFi and bought two new vinyl albums – the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Californication” and U2’s seminal 1991 album, “Achtung Baby (20th Anniversary Edition)”.  We returned home for “Father and Son Vinyl Appreciation” which mainly consisted of playing select tracks from the former new purchases.

Tonight we’re out for Father’s Day dinner and will cap the night off with a Lego build session.

What a great day!

I hope all the other new Dads out there are having a great day too – Eric Ding, Leon van Gendt, Geoff Smith, Dmitry Kikiltov.. plus anyone else I’ve missed (apologies!).
