Chinese New Year’s Eve, Eve

Posted On By Rob

Tomorrow night is actually the proper start of the Chinese new year, but you’d be hard pressed to know.  Fireworks have been decorating the sky around HangZhou since early Sunday, and tonight has been even more pronounced.  If the past few days have been any indication, Chinese New Year will see the largest amount of fireworks let off that I’ve ever seen at any one time before.

We haven’t even left our apartment, and yet we have had fireworks of all types, sizes, height (in the sky) and colours go off all around our apartment.  Here is a rough sampling, keeping in mind that I shot them without a tripod, and with little warning.  No, that’s not the side of the building exploding..!
