Chinese New Year–The real deal (part 1)

Posted On By Rob

As I alluded to recently, Chinese New Year has been fast approaching.  Last night and at all hours we’ve heard sporadic fireworks, some big, some small.  Today CNY kicked off with a bang – it literally feels like we’re in the middle of a war zone – and since dusk our apartment has been surrounded by explosions.  It has literally been non stop since 6pm, and shows no signs of abatement.

Here is a sampling of photos just taken from our apartment.  We’ll be going out later tonight, closer to midnight, to sample an authentic Chinese New Year experience.  To say that this has been the most fireworks we’ve ever seen at any one time is an understatement!
