Back from Bordeaux [Status Update]

Hi Guys,

Just a quick post to let you know we made it back from Bordeaux about half an hour ago and are pretty beat.  We spent two days (one night) in the beautiful wine country and it was simply divine.

More details (naturally) to come, once I’ve written up the notes on Paris Days 1 & 2, probably on Friday at this stage (or even Thursday night).  Pictures included, of course!

For the curious: yes, we did buy wine.  I’ll be doing a lot more posts on Bordeaux on the “other” “other” blog, http://www.aussiewineguy.com but I will do a few posts here as well (more on the non-wine aspects of the visit).

For the record we bought a 2006 Chateau Palmer, a half-bottle ‘04 Chateau Margaux, a half-bottle Sauternes (dessert), a half-bottle ‘05 Chateau Pontet-Canet and a half-bottle of the La Mission Haut-Brion second label.  The half-bottles are mainly due to luggage restrictions!
